  • How diabetes mellitus and DKA works, and how it impacts our patients

  • The treatment options for canine and feline diabetes, including novel treatments and long-acting insulin options for cats

  • How to monitor diabetic patients and interpret their results - from fructosamine to continuous glucose monitoring devices and more

  • Exactly what to feed your diabetic patients - which diets, how much, and how often

  • How to stabilise, treat and care for DKA patients

  • How to place advanced vascular access devices in DKA patients (including practical placement of both PICC and central lines)

  • After the sessions, the day will end with a social hour and Q&A with a drink at the bar on me!

Attendees will leave the day with the knowledge and tools to confidently treat and nurse diabetes and DKA in practice, as well as the practical skills to do so.

11:45am: Food, glorious food: Approach to nutrition in the diabetic dog and cat

12:30pm: Lunch

1:30pm: Keto-wha?! Getting to grips with DKA (Sponsored by B.Braun)

2:15pm: Not-so-sweet: Treating and Nursing DKA

3:00pm: Afternoon Break

3:30pm: Practical workshop: Advanced vascular access techniques for DKA patients (Sponsored by DMS)

Is there car parking on site?

There is a large NCP car park nearby on Birmingham Newhall Street, which can be booked in advance. It is a 3-minute walk away.

Need a hotel room?

There are many hotels nearby, including the Bloc hotel and Newhall Street Travelodge.

What’s the refund policy?

If you can no longer attend, please notify me via email as soon as possible. You’ll be eligible for a refund (minus 10% to cover booking and administration fees) up to 14 days before the event. Refunds cannot be issued within 14 days of the event, but your place can be transferred to another person in your practice team up to 5 working days before the event.
